This Fiscal Technician 2 (FT2) ensures the prompt and precise processing of payments for health professionals' applications, renewals, and other agency revenues. 

Duties include daily mail handling, organizing cash receipts for processing, and batching paperwork for delivery to DOH programs. Additionally, the FT2 is responsible for posting daily cash receipts, preparing cash journal vouchers, auditing and rectifying receipts for the Remittance Processor, managing credit card receipts, and processing revenue refunds as well as, drafting customer letters.

The duty station for this full-time permanent position is Tumwater, WA.  Due to the essential functions of this position, the incumbent is expected to be on-site in a Tumwater, WA DOH facility.

Required Qualifications 

Experience defined below may have been gained through paid or unpaid activities. Please ensure any relevant experience defined below is outlined in your cover letter, resume, and/or applicant profile. 

One (1) or more years of experience working in fiscal, accounting, or auditing receipts. 

AND the following Computer skills:

  • MS Outlook – to create, modify, and respond to emails and calendar appointments.
  • MS Excel – to create, modify, format, and print spreadsheets, find, and replace data, and work with basic formulas and functions.
  • Microsoft Word – to create, format, and edit documents.
  • 10-key calculator/number pad for data entry and calculations 

 

Desired Qualifications  

  • Demonstrated experience using the WA state accounting system (AFRS) and applying Office of Financial Management (OFM) policies and procedures.
  • Experience with state regulations as they apply to payroll, accounting, or revenue processing. 
  • One (1) or more years of experience receiving payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits (AP/AR)
  • College or Technical School coursework in the accounting or fiscal field
