The Clarke County Health Department Teen Matters Clinic seeks a Registered Nurse. Under general supervision, provides professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols, policies, and/or procedures. Must be comfortable with speaking with clients one-on-one and in small groups regarding multiple health-related topics including sexuality, birth control, smoking, and other issues. Assess each patient’s condition, develops a plan of care, provide treatments, educate patients, and make referrals as appropriate.

The schedule will be four 10-hour shifts per week, Monday through Thursday.


As a Registered Nurse within the Teen Matters Clinic at the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.   

Requirements

You will support the department by utilizing your expertise to fulfill the following responsibilities: 

  • Under broad supervision, provides professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols, policies and/or procedures.
  • Focuses on the prevention of illness, injury or disability, the promotion of health and maintenance of the health of populations.
  • Cares for populations with special needs during disasters/emergencies and biological and chemical protocols.
  • Provides treatments for sexually transmitted infections, performs well-women exams including pap smears, pelvic exams, breast exams, and provides preventive and maintenance care to patient/families consistent with the care plan and nurse protocols.
  • This position will also administer medications including (Birth control, STI treatments, TB medications and vaccines).
  • This position requires the ability to function as part of a team as well as the ability to provide direct client services in an a clinic setting.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND current Georgia Registration Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification.
Note: No experience is required.
 
Annual salary $60,000 Plus, generous benefits include 13 paid holidays, annual and sick leave, health insurance, and retirement plans.
