As a Registered Nurse within the Columbia County Health Department, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.
Starting Salary - $55,000.00, $60,000.00 upon completion of ERN training.

Georgia Department of Public Health Commissioner and leaders encourages all employees to engage in regular wellness activities and to make lifestyle choices that promote health and well-being. Requirements

Under general supervision, provide professional nursing care in accordance with public health nurse protocols. Provides community health services in programs such as Women's Health, Child Health, Adult Health, Communicable plans of care, provides treatments, educate clients,
 and refers clients to agencies that can assist in meeting social and/or health needs. Records pertinent observations and responses to treatment.
Provides exceptional and knowledgeable customer service to patients and colleagues while maintaining an honest and respectful approach to culture diversities and differences of opinions. Becomes family with public health's role in the emergency support function of sheltering and health and medical services. Attends training for disaster preparedness in
bioterrorism sheltering, etc. as needed or required. Performs assigned duties in relations to the emergency operations center and assigned duty officer.
Providing Emergency Support may require alternate work hours.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND current Georgia license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse AND CPR certification OR associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or University AND One year of PHN completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification.

Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of a bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited
Program and two year of professional nursing experience.Employment Information
 
  Current State employees are subject to State Personnel Board rules regarding salary.
 
  DPH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degree, diploma, licensure, etc.
 
  The candidate selected for this position may be subject to pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check.
