Position is located at Central Louisiana State Hospital in Pineville, Louisiana in the Psychology Department. This posting may be used to fill future vacancies that may open within 90 days.
 

Psychologist 2 has a special entrance rate of $39.12 / hourly.
Psychologist 3 has a special entrance rate of $44.79 / hourly.

Position may be filled as  Probation,  Promotion, Demotion, or Transfer.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A Louisiana license to practice psychology.


Qualifications

FUNCTION OF WORK:
To improve the functioning of individual clients and/or organizations involving the application of psychological principles and techniques within one or more of the following functional areas: direct services; consultation; training; research. Services provided vary depending upon specific organizational needs and generally fall into one of the major psychological subject matter specializations.

LEVEL OF WORK:
Experienced.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
General from a facility administrator or other professional at a higher level.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
Supervision may be exercised over unlicensed Psychology Post-Doctoral Fellows, Associates, Assistants, Interns and Externs, paraprofessionals, semiprofessionals, and/or clerical staff. This level does not supervise Licensed Psychologists.

LOCATION OF WORK:
Statewide.

JOB DISTINCTIONS:
Differs from the Psychology Post-Doctoral Fellow by the presence of a license to practice psychology.
 
Differs from Psychologist 3 by the absence of responsibility for a specific area, unit or program of psychological services. EXAMPLES BELOW ARE A BRIEF SAMPLE OF COMMON DUTIES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS JOB TITLE. NOT ALL POSSIBLE TASKS ARE INCLUDED.

Incumbents are responsible for carrying out these professional duties in accordance with generally accepted psychological theories, methods, techniques and practices. They are professionally responsible for the application of said standards and for the accuracy and reliability of the data obtained and basic recommendations made.
 
Performs psychological diagnoses and treatment; participates, as a member of a patient treatment unit, in staff discussions on patient diagnoses, treatment, and progress.
 
Administers or reviews results of the full range of diagnostic tests for psychological assessment, interpret results, and prepares psychological evaluations.
 
Designs and implements programs involving the application of behavior modification principles and techniques.
 
Consults with related professionals on topics or techniques within areas of specialization.
 
Conducts organizationally approved research projects of limited scope.
