Program Coordinator 2 (SHARP Outreach Coordinator-PCN 161008)

What you will be doing:
As the SHARP Outreach Coordinator, you will develop and implement effective marketing and communications strategies to increase participation in the Strengthening Healthcare Access Recruitment Program. Your responsibilities will include training, marketing, guidance documents, grant compliance, evaluation, and coordinating with the statewide SHARP Advisory Council. By putting the needs of potential applicants at the forefront of your work, you will help to reduce healthcare professional shortages and increase access to care for all Alaskans.

The working environment you can expect:
Based on the successful candidate, this position may be located in Juneau or Anchorage, Alaska. Both locations embrace a friendly, flexible, and supportive work environment with hybrid work schedule options after successful onboarding.

The work location in Juneau is the Alaska Office Building, which is in the heart of downtown and within easy walking distance to amenities and the waterfront. There is ample covered parking, a high level of building security, and access to vending machines for drinks and snacks.

The work location in Anchorage, the Frontier building in mid-town, provides ample covered parking, building security, vending machines for snacks and drinks, and various nearby restaurants and stores.

To be successful in the position, the candidate will need the following core competencies:

Training from an accredited college or university in any field and/or progressively responsible professional experience developing, planning, coordinating, and implementing a program, project, business, organization, or major components of a program, including having administrative authority over the program/project funding, staff, and/or overall operations.


Special Note:

“Competencies” means a combination of interrelated knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors that enable a person to act effectively in a job or situation. 

“Typically gained by” means the prevalent, usual method of gaining the competencies expected for entry into the job. 

“Training” and “education” are synonyms for the process of acquiring knowledge and skills through instruction. At the time of the interview, please provide the following: 
  1. Three (3) professional references whom we may contact by phone, one (1) of whom must be your current or most recent supervisor, if not already provided in the application.

The State of Alaska uses four proficiency levels to measure and describe an applicant’s level of competence in applying certain behaviors, knowledge, skills, and abilities to accomplish a specific task.  The four proficiency levels are Mastery, Fluency, Literacy, and Discovery. EDUCATION
