The Division of Behavioral Health is currently recruiting for a
Program Coordinator 2.

This position is located in our Anchorage Therapeutic Courts office in the Boney Courthouse.

What you will be doing:

The Therapeutic Court Program serves adults with misdemeanor and felony alcohol and drug convictions as well as adults with a severe mental illness with similar criminal involvement. Additionally, this position serves as a liaison between professionals in the Alaska Justice System and social service/substance abuse treatment agencies for adults.

This position will work closely with the Program Coordinator 2 for Anchorage Therapeutic Courts and will oversee and supervise the outlying Therapeutic Court Program’s Probation Officers and Criminal Justice Technicians in Palmer, Fairbanks, and Juneau. This position provides leadership and is responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating activities for the Therapeutic Court Program.

Boney Courthouse: Conveniently located in Downtown Anchorage and within walking distance to Simon & Seaforts, SnowCity Café and Coastal Trail.

Training from an accredited college or university in any field and/or progressively responsible professional experience developing, planning, coordinating, and implementing a program, project, business, organization, or major components of a program, including having administrative authority over the program/project funding, staff, and/or overall operations.


Special Note:

“Competencies” means a combination of interrelated knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors that enable a person to act effectively in a job or situation. 

“Typically gained by” means the prevalent, usual method of gaining the competencies expected for entry into the job. 

“Training” and “education” are synonyms for the process of acquiring knowledge and skills through instruction. It includes instruction through formal and informal methods (such as classroom, on-line, self-study, and on-the-job), from accredited and unaccredited sources, and long-duration (such as a post-secondary degree) and short-duration (such as a seminar) programs. 

“Professional experience” means work that is creative, analytical, evaluative, and interpretive; requires a range and depth of specialized knowledge of the profession's principles, concepts, theories, and practices; and is performed with the power or right to decide or act according to one's own judgment. 

“Progressively responsible” means indicating growth and/or advancement in complexity, difficulty, or level of responsibility.

Qualifications

At time of interview applicant(s) are requested to submit:
1. A copy of academic transcripts (unofficial are acceptable but must include the institution name/URL on documentsprovided).
2. Three (3) professional references and current contact numbers, including two (2) current or former supervisors. If not already provided in the application.  
3. Copies of your two (2) most recent employment performance evaluations if available.

Special Note:
1. A Valid and Current Alaska's Driver's License is required.
2. This position requires that the applicant be able to gain Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN) security clearance.
