The Regional Medical Director (RMD) is responsible for planning, developing, organizing, and directing regional public health activities for Public Health Region (PHR) 9/10, which spans 33 West Texas counties. The RMD is responsible for:

· All department program activities assigned within the region.

· Providing public health and medical consultation to physicians and local health department personnel regarding public health issues.

· Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with city, county, state and federal officials, and independent local public health entities within the region.
