PH Licensed Practical Nurse 1 or 2

Location: Gilmer County Health Dept.

Requirements

General Nature of Work:
Under General Supervision, This position provides professional public health nursing service in accordance with Georgia State Nursing Protocols, Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Provides customer service
  • Maintains HIPAA standards related to Privacy and Security 
  • Venipuncture, TB skin test
  • Provides oversight to Immunization Program. Orders all vaccines, maintains accountability for VFC through electronic inventory, CoCASA and physical counts of vaccines. Keeps abreast of changes in vaccine scheduling and eligibility, updating staff when needed.
  • Provides education, and administers vaccinations in the clinic and assists with offsite vaccine clinics and immunization outreach.
  • Maintains vaccine supply in accordance with state and CDC storage guidelines.
  • Orders vaccines from state and private suppliers.
  • Orders supplies for clinic.
  • Community-based activities. Daycare audits, school-based vision, hearing and scoliosis screening, flu clinics, with applications for RSM and PCM enrollment.
  • Provides ancillary support to the APRN's.
  • Provides cars seat services.
  • Maintains CPR Certification.          

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited LPN/ LVN School of Licensed Practical Nursing AND Current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse AND CPR certification AND Completion of all necessary orientation and training for Public Health LPN. No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Immunization/Public Health Experience
Health-Related positions involving direct contact with or exposure to airborne or blood-borne pathogens. Some positions may involve moderate to heavy physical activity.  Environmental factors including hazardous chemicals radiation or airborne pathogens.

Current State employees are subject to State Personnel Board rules regarding salary.
 
CBH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered.
 
All positions require criminal history record check. Required education credentials, license, certification and/or registration must be submitted prior to employment in the position. Some positions require pre-employment drug testing in which the applicant who is offered the position will be required to successfully complete.
