As a Informatics Support Analyst 3 within the Office of Public Health Informatics at the Georgia Department of Public Healthyou will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.

Requirements

  • Responsible for assisting department management with review of the Public Health Infrastructure Grant (PHIG); ensuring compliance with the DPH accounting policies and procedures, generally accepted accounting principles, and Federal and State grant accounting and reporting requirements, including grant reporting deadlines.
  • Maintain, review, and update financial records on each PHIG grant component and communicates status and activities to appropriate management.
  • Coordinates and performs PHIG grant reporting, monitoring, and reconciles compliance issues.
  • Monitors the grant to ensure that expenditures are in accordance with the grant agreement, and state and federal laws while informing management of any issues.
  • Prepares and provides regular reports of grant expenditures to department management across all components of the grant.
  • Serves as a resource for accounting activity; provides financial data for grant writing, research, budgeting, and reporting activities.
  • Assists with the completion of the required annual reports to granting agency, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
  • May perform financial analysis duties as required to administer the grant.
  • Responsible for creating requisitions, other purchasing functions, and ensure invoices are received and paid in a timely manner for PHIG.
  • Serves as backup for administrative support for the Department, as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business or related field from an accredited college or university AND Four years of experience related to area of assignment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in business or related field from an accredited college or university AND three (3) years of experience related to area of assignment.
  • Ability to perform job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to make decisions in compliance with agency and grant specific rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to proficiently use state accounting and financial systems (i.e. TeamWorks Financials)
  • Proficient in MS Office and Advanced in Excel (Pivot Tables)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail Oriented
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

DPH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degree, diploma, licensure, etc.
