Requirements

Under broad supervision, performs tasks necessary to provide rental subsidies to qualified participants. Responsibilities include performing tenant family casework, inspecting housing units for compliance, conducting briefing/training sessions for participants and landlords, and completing documentation.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
•    Acts as a liaison between agency and legal services during jury trials and legal settlements
•    Analyzes applicants' financial status, credit, and property evaluations
•    Approves and/or justifies counteroffer options
•        Assists customers with all phases of leasing while remaining within all specifications, laws, and regulations
•        Assists in and appraisals of properties to determine fair market value for right of way acquisition
•        Assists in the relocation of displaced persons to new housing and collecting relocation payments in accordance with federal and state regulations
•        Assists with negotiating property settlements in accordance with federal and state regulations
•        Assists with the plans, development, and implementation the establishment of a local government acquisitions program
•    Coordinates condemnation cases between the agency and the Attorney General's office
•    Coordinates with private developers, lenders, local and state officials to increase the supply of accessible and affordable housing
•    Learns to conduct administrative appeals involving property owners concerning the acquisition or relocation offer
•    Learns to develop consultant contracts for pre-acquisition, acquisition and negotiation
•    Learns to ensure compliance to all applicable federal and state policies, procedures, regulations, codes and laws
•    Learns to prepare relocation assistance appraisals, reports, conceptual and design studies
•    Receives additional training, as required, to gain full proficiency and experience in all areas


Qualifications

Master's degree in a social services field from an accredited college or university OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university AND One year of related experience OR Associate's degree from an accredited college or university AND Three years of related experience OR Four years of related experience.Georgia Department of Public Health Commissioner and  leaders encourages all employees to engage in regular wellness activities and to make lifestyle choices that promote health and well-being.

The use of wellness breaks during the workday is authorized to support this philosophy and assist employees in meeting their wellness goals.  A maximum of 30 minutes in a given workday may be used to engage in wellness activities, generally in the form of two 15-minute breaks or one 30-minute break.

DPH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degree, diploma, licensure, etc.
