What you will be doing:
Eligibility Technician 3 serves as a lead or advanced technician who trains other technicians, assigns, and evaluates work, and/or performs specialized services and the most difficult or controversial case management to determine eligibility and authorize benefits for public and family assistance programs. This position works with Alaskan families, elders, and other individuals in need to reach higher levels of independence and self-sufficiency by connecting them to the variety of public assistance programs our agency provides.

The work location for this particular position is located at:  11312 Kenai Spur Hwy., Suite #2 in Kenai AK.

  • Developing Others: Develops the abilities of others to perform and contribute to the health and welfare of Alaskans and the Division by providing ongoing feedback and by providing opportunities to learn through formal and informal methods.

Requirements

One year of experience as an Eligibility Technician 2 with the State of Alaska or the equivalent with another employer;
 
OR
 
One year performing similar work that developed knowledge and skills in applying program requirements to diverse situations, conducting interviews, and gathering information in order to obtain and verify information while working with client customers in stressful situations.
 
Substitution:
Post-secondary education in such fields as sociology, social work, psychology, counseling, human services, vocational rehabilitation, developmental disabilities, behavioral sciences, business, public administration, or accounting may substitute for the required experience (undergraduate credits: 2.67 semester/4 quarter hours = 1 month).

Qualifications

  2. Last two (2) years of performance evaluations, if available.

To verify education is being used to meet and/or support the required minimum qualifications/competencies, you must fill in the Education section of the application. Copies of transcripts are required to verify educational credentials used to meet or support the minimum qualifications/competencies for a position and are required with each application. If utilizing this education, you must show that the education credentials have been submitted to a private organization that specializes in the interpretation of foreign educational credentials and that such education has been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education programs or an accredited U.S. state university reports the other institution as one whose transcript is given full value, or full value is given in subject areas applicable to the curricula at the state university. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. The omission of the required documentation listed will result in an incomplete application, and you will not receive further consideration.
