This position is located within the Louisiana Department of Health / Medical Vendor Administration / Program Integrity / Statewide
 
**Please note** Part-time WAE appointments are temporary and may last up to a year. Employees can only work a total of 1,245 hours within a 12-month period. 

This is a Statewide position and is 100% remote. The duties can be performed Statewide in the state of Louisiana.

1. Assist the Department with dental audits involving medical necessity, review and confirm Louisiana Medicaid policy position.
2. Work with Department staff to determine level of care and/or medical necessity.
3. Represent the Department on informal hearing and appeals as needed.
4. Work with the Department to help identify areas of review.
5. Assist and advise the Department concerning all issues involving dental policy.
6. Provide recommendations concerning suggested modifications to dental policy for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness.

Applicants must possess the following qualifications to be considered:

1. Licensed to practice in Louisiana as a dentist, or proof of application for reciprocity.
2. Board-certified in dentistry.
3. No previous sanctions from the State of Louisiana or Office of the Inspector General.
4. Strong Understanding of Louisiana Medicaid Dental Policy, CMS regulations, and Medicaid claims.

No Civil Service test score is required in order to be considered for this vacancy.
