Communicable Disease Specialist

  The agency is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Communicable Disease Specialist for our Richmond County Health Department.

STARTING SALARY: $40,000.00

Requirements

Under supervision will serve as CDS for the STD prevention program.
* Be Responsible for conducting timely disease intervention functions to control and prevent infectious diseases.
* Provide health education to patients, their partners, clinicians and other community members. * Counseling patients.
* Performing investigations to gather information.
 * Coordinate testing and surveillance
* Input into regional database

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university OR four years of outreach experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in public health, medical, disease investigation, or community based organization.

  DPH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degree, diploma, licensure, etc.
