GENERAL DESCRIPTION: 


The Wyoming Department of Health, Public Health Division (Division) is seeking an At-Will Employee Contract (AWEC) Overdose Prevention Coordinator. This position will manage the Overdose Data to Action Grant and specific activities supporting the planning and implementation of opioid prevention programs

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level.
 

  • Writes and/or reviews grants/contracts/RFP/RFI/business cases.
  • Provides technical assistance to program areas or agencies.
  • Determines grant/contract/RFP/RFI allocations or reviews for appropriateness.
  • Compiles and/or reviews budgets and narratives for submission and approval.
  • Executes grant/contract/RFP/RFI award agreements by federal and state rules and regulations.
  • Manages and monitors grant/contract recipients to ensure they are meeting grant compliance requirements.
  • Participates in state and federal programs and financial audits of grant/contract programs.
  • Maintains current knowledge of grant/contract/RFP/RFI/Purchases rules and regulations.
  • Implements program improvements.
  • Reviews and analyzes proposals for professional services agreements.
  • Negotiates change orders for professional service agreements.
  • Researches requirements and develops goals and objectives for program implementation;
  • Stay current on the science and evidence-based practices for opioid use and overdose prevention.
  • Participate in strategic planning, implementation, and policy development.
  • Write and manage opioid prevention program contracts, including a request for proposal when required.
  • Assist the Unit Manager in program planning activities, as well as other projects as assigned to help achieve program goals. 
  • Deliver professional presentations to stakeholders.  
  • Represents the program by serving as liaison to various state-level interdepartmental programs, non-profit coalitions, and /or committees.
  • Provides provider and participant training and education, public education, resource development, identification, and implementation of best practices.

Requirements


PREFERENCES: 


Preference will be given to a Bachelor's degree in business administration, education, psychology/social science or services, public health, public administration, or related field with 1-3 years of progressive work experience managing a health services program.
A Master’s degree or higher may be substituted for experience.

  • Knowledge and skills with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and web-based scheduling tools.

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:


  • Typically, the employee will sit comfortably to perform the work, however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, and carrying light items
