GENERAL DESCRIPTION: 


The Wyoming Public Health Lab, Microbiology Program is searching for an At-Will Employee Contract (AWEC) Grant Coordinator/Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) analyst.  The individual in this position will assist management and staff teams in planning, organizing, coordinating, and submitting federal grant proposals, and perform other grant-related duties as assigned to meet the laboratory program goals and metrics. This individual will also act as a secondary LIMS analyst and assist the LIMS Administrator in the development/maintenance of the laboratory's LIMS system and Laboratory Web Portal (LWP).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level.
 

  • Coordination of Pre-Award and Post-Award functions that include proposal preparation, submission, and budget tracking
  • Ensures grants are submitted on time and within application parameters
  • Ensures grant reporting timelines for milestones and metrics are met
  • Compiles grant and testing information as requested by staff and management
  • Works closely with the LIMS Administrator to ensure daily functionality of the LIMS system and LWP
  • Assists with LIMS development, laboratory data tracking, and instrument integration
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements



PREFERENCES: 


Preference will be given to candidates with prior grant coordinating and/or management experience.  
Preference will also be given to candidates that have experience working with Laboratory Information Management Systems


KNOWLEDGE: 


  • Excellent computer skills and the ability to quickly learn multiple types of software and systems
  • Knowledge of grant funding processes
  • Ability to communicate information and provide technical assistance to requesting parties
  • Extremely organized, meticulous with details, and able to meet hard deadlines

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:


  • Typically, the employee will sit comfortably to perform the work, however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, and carrying light items
