As part of the Business Service team the Agency Transportation Officer is responsible for various tasks involving the management of the DOH fleet and parking.  

This work includes preparing invoices related to fleet and agency-owned vehicles for payment while ensuring accurate documentation of vehicle accidents and infractions. 

They also assist in the development and implementation of a comprehensive vehicle management program, which involves updating driving policies, managing maintenance for agency-owned vehicles, establishing criteria for permanent vehicle assignments, and monitoring compliance. 

This position is responsible for the process of converting agency-assigned ICE (gas-powered) vehicles to BEV (battery electric vehicles) at the end of life. 

Lastly, they maintain records, analyze data, and provide monthly reports on vehicle usage to support fleet services and parking enforcement efforts. As well as managing the department inbox, including prioritizing, and responding to emails, processing service request tickets, handling parking pass requests, and updating vehicle management records. 

The duty station for this full-time permanent Program Specialist 3 (PS3) is Tumwater WA, where most work will be conducted in a customer-facing role. The tasks may also entail working in a variety of settings both indoors and out. Some hybrid work is also possible.

Required Qualifications 

Experience defined below may have been gained through paid or unpaid activities. Please ensure any relevant experience defined below is outlined in your cover letter, resume, and/or applicant profile. 

 

Option 1: Completion of a formal post-high school education or certificate program AND two (2) years of experience in two or more of the following:

  • Experience with fleet management.
  • Experience with parking management.
  • Experience with fleet decarbonization or transition to electric vehicles.
  • Experience maintaining fleet logs for accidents, infractions, repairs or usage.
  • Procurement or invoicing experience 
  • Customer service experience that includes resolving problems and responding to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and services.

 Option 2: Four (4) years of experience in two (2) or more of the following:

  • Experience with fleet management.
  • Experience with parking management.
  • Experience with fleet decarbonization or transition to electric vehicles.
  • Experience maintaining fleet logs for accidents, infractions, repairs or usage.
  • Procurement or invoicing experience 
  • Customer service experience that includes resolving problems and responding to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and services.

Desired Qualifications  

  • Experience on statewide interagency committees.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
  • Creating correspondence that meets policy and forms protocol.
  • Experience with a state, local or federal government.

Conditions of Employment/Working Conditions
