Salary Range: $40,696-$64,324
Purpose of Position: This position aids the Finance Director with the purchasing, acquisition and reconciliation of financial invoicing for the entire Administration Division for the Pitt County Health Department. This position is responsible for processing departmental order request, reconciling purchase order request through county finance, reconciling payroll invoices for contract employees and travel coordination for all health department staff. This position assists with accounts receivables serving approximately 135 people.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Considerable knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices. Considerable knowledge of established governmental and departmental budgeting and bookkeeping practices and procedures. Ability to understand, interpret and apply laws and regulations to the maintenance of financial records. Ability to prepare fiscal reports and analyses of financial statements. Ability to supervise and instruct subordinate personnel in record keeping and other clerical work.
Minimum Education and Experience: Graduation from high school including or supplemented by basic courses in bookkeeping or accounting and four years' experience in bookkeeping or accounting clerical work in an accounting office; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in business administration may be substituted for the required experience; or a two year degree in business administration or accounting from a community college or business college may be substituted for three of the four years of required experience: or completion of a one year course including or supplemented by courses in bookkeeping or accounting may be substituted for two years of the required experience.) A valid North Carolina Driver's License required. Proof of Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella immunity.
