Adult Services Intern

Looking for an intern with some work experience who is interested in a macro level position such as a manager or data analyst. This internship will allow the student to participate in a state level program to see how it is administered and how to use data when making decisions. While most meetings could be completed by video conferencing some in-person meetings may be needed to pick up materials or join an in-person group meeting. Hours could be flexible and will be established at the beginning of the internship.
Intern Responsibilities / Projects:
An intern would meet weekly with the Adult Services Program Administrator to discuss progress on assigned projects selected at the beginning of the internship. This could be done through video conferencing with some in-person meetings either in Kalamazoo or Lansing. The intern would attend group meetings and discussions with managers and administrators to share results from the projects selected. Projects could include:
- Work on quality assurance measures
- Complete data collection and analysis
- Create power point presentations or surveys
- Lead focus groups
- Research information to recommend solutions
- Develop training materials.
- Test software applications
Requirements
Social Work, Public Health, Business Administration, Communications, Public Administration, Social Innovation.
Qualifications
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Able to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- Familiar with video conferencing using Zoom and Microsoft TEAMS.
- Good writing and math skills.
- Able to learn new technology quickly.
- Able to manage time independently to complete projects timely.
- Good communication skills.
