About this Job

This position is located in the Nursing Department of Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System (ELMHS), within the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH)/Office of Behavioral Health (OBH).  ELMHS has a patient population that includes Civil and Forensic Clients. ELMHS operates two major campus sites in Jackson, Louisiana with approximately 697 inpatient and/or residential beds, as well as many outpatient/community Forensic System locations throughout the State. The total appropriation for ELMHS is approximately $100 million with an authorization for approximately 1287 T.O. positions.  

Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or a temporary permit or multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state to practice as a registered nurse plus one of the following:

Six years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR

A bachelor's degree in nursing plus five years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR

A master's degree in nursing or public health plus five years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR

A doctorate in nursing or public health plus four years of experience as a licensed registered nurse.

Position-Specific Details:

Special Entrance Rate (SER):
$4389.60/biweekly

 
PREMIUM PAY (per hour physically worked)
Retention Pay - $8/hr
Longevity Pay - $2/hr ( increases up to a max $5/hr)
Specialty Unit Pay - $2/hr
Various shift differential pay available
