The agency is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Mgr 3, Information Technology (IT Director) within the Fulton County Board of Health in the Information Technology Division.


Please note: This is a time-limited grant-funded position funded by Workforce.

Job Responsibilities

Leads and assists with the statewide business objectives in IT fields such as electronic data processing, information systems technology, and electronic security. Oversees the development and implementation of IT projects and initiatives. This manager has a broad scope or a high level of responsibility within an agency or organization. Directs subordinate managers and staff.

  • Continually evaluates customers' security needs for IT applications and evaluates the current options available to meet those needs
  • Defines and prioritizes IT project requirements
  • Develops time and cost estimates, project plans and budget
  • Establishes IT policy and participates in the coordination of systems administration and network administration
  • Interviews, hires, directs, trains, evaluates the performance of, and when necessary, disciplines and discharges IT employees
  • Manages human resources and directs administrative activities for IT employees
  • Monitors the staffs' installation, maintenance, and support of IT products/services
  • Oversees the development and implementation of IT projects and initiatives
  • Oversees the evaluation of the unit's internal processes, procedures, and technologies to improve efficiency and ensure quality
  • Provides expert assistance to customers in planning their IT needs
  • Schedules downtime and preventive maintenance activities required to keep all equipment in good operating condition
  • Serves as a link between vendors and IT staff by providing information and guidance in acquiring relevant products and services
  • Works with other IT managers, staff and vendors as needed, in order to provide timely and efficient IT coordination in providing services to meet customers' requests
  • Directs subordinate managers and staff
  • Provides leadership to subordinate managers and staff

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and four (4) years in a managerial or supervisory role; or six (6) years in a managerial or supervisory role; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Mgr 2, Information Technology (ITM021) or position equivalent.
