Main Purpose of Job

This senior level position directs and manages the daily administrative and operational activities of the Queen Anne's County Department of Health. The position is responsible for the direction and supervision of all administrative support services, major programs, and policy development. Divisions include: Administration, Environmental Health, Nursing and Clinical Programs, Alcohol and Drug Abuse and Prevention, and Wellness.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Business Administration or other closely related field.

Experience: Seven years professional experience in health services, human services, or business administration, including five years at a supervisory or managerial level.

Note: Additional health or human services experience can be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the college degree.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess experience with the following:
  • Personnel management (recruitment, conflict resolution, development, etc.) and healthcare operations
  • Public health system to include application of public health principles to meet community needs
  • Managing multiple projects, priorities, and performance management
