Job Description

This position will be responsible for the implementation of quality improvement for the Language Services program, involving data analysis and reporting internally and to contracted agencies to provide recommendations for iterative improvement of culturally and linguistically appropriate services for CPH. Position will also be responsible for developing, consulting on and implementing racial equity impact assessments with internal stakeholders. Position will develop tools to evaluate training reach and apply evaluation outcomes and engage communities in an effort to drive decision-making for CPHI leadership and CPH.


Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required- preferred in Public Health, or related field of study such as social work, sociology, health administration or community health education, for example. Highly organized, self-starter, comfortable working with diverse constituents. Knowledge about health equity and the conditions that impact health. Knowledge of policy, systems, and environmental changes that improve public health. Experience in conducting evaluations, surveys and/or equity impact assessments. Plan and execute meetings, public speaking. An understanding of equity and the root causes of inequities including the history and different levels of racism is preferred. Experience working with diverse populations and working knowledge of different cultural, age, and gender specific norms. Experience with quality improvement principles and methodologies. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, SharePoint, RedCap, and Qualtrics is required. Proficiency in design software such as Canva and qualitative analysis software such as ATLAS.ti and NVivo is preferred. Occasional day, weekend, or evening availability required.


Pay Range

$33.03 to $49.54


Under direction, is responsible for the management of a public health service within Columbus Public Health; performs related duties as required.

Examples of Work

Promotes, establishes, or expands health care services or educational programming throughout the community;

 

Collects and analyzes data relevant to health care services or educational programs;

 

Responds to health related questions and serves as a department representative on boards and committees in the community;

 

Evaluates program, ensures compliance to standards and requirements, and recommends changes to services, materials, or operations;

 

Provides technical assistance, provides resources to, or conducts educational programs for civic groups, health organizations, employee groups, and others;

 

Develops and implements procedures for a health care service or educational program;

 

Prepares reports detailing activities, facilities, and funding for a health program;

 

Responds to and provides leadership for public health emergencies and significant events;

 

May have limited supervisory responsibility;

 

May participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a bachelor’s degree and one (1) year of experience in public health conducting or coordinating services, programs, or educational activities.  Substitution(s):  Possession of a master’s degree in public health or public administration may substitute for the required experience.

 

Some positions allocated to this classification may require State of Ohio certification or licensure due to the nature of or the funding requirements for the program.

 

Some positions may require a valid driver’s license.
