Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Collects lab specimens
  2. Administers immunizations
  3. Gathers information and completes reports
  4. Stocks supplies and handles biological materials
  5. Provides information, education, and referrals to the general public
  6. Performs all other related duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

TO APPLY, must have a High School diploma or GED or higher education.

TO APPLY, must have completed an accredited LVN program resulting in licensure.

TO APPLY, must have Two (2) full-time years of work experience in health care or a related field.

TO APPLY, must have a Current Texas or multistate compact (including Texas) LVN license. MUST PROVIDE LICENSING AGENCY AND LICENSE NUMBER IN "CERTIFICATES AND LICENSING" SECTION OF THE APPLICATION OR BE DISQUALIFIED.

TO APPLY, must have Texas LVN license required within ninety (90) days of hire.

TO APPLY, must have a valid driver license and current automobile liability insurance.  Note:  A Texas driver license is required to hold the position.

Strong customer service, organization, and keyboarding skills with basic computer knowledge are necessary.

If hired, must provide proof of educational attainment
at New Hire Processing or during the promotional process.

 
Tarrant County will conduct background checks on new hires that will include a criminal background check related to convictions and deferred adjudications in the past seven years and may include credit reports, motor vehicle records, employment records and educational attainment. A conviction or deferred adjudication is not an automatic bar to employment. Each case is considered individually. 

Physical Demands and Work Environment & Other Requirements

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to bend, carry, climb stairs, grasp/squeeze, use hand tools, hear, keyboard, kneel, lift below the waist, lift between waist and shoulder, lift overhead, lift to the side/twist, tolerate noise, pull, push, reach, reach overhead, perform repetitive tasks, see color, see far and near, sit, squat, stand, stoop, talk, twist, use his/her hands, drive a vehicle, walk, and work alone and with others.  Exposure to active infectious diseases and body fluids, possible needle sticks, and restraining of children. The incumbent must be able to travel to alternate clinics or events as scheduled.
