***INTERNAL POSTING- THIS IS AN INTERNAL POSTING OPEN ONLY FOR CURRENT NORTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES EMPLOYEES, AND ELIGIBLE RIF CANDIDATES FROM NORTH CAROLINA STATE GOVERNMENT INCLUDING CURRENT TEMPORARY EMPLOYEES.***

The purpose of this federally funded position will be to design and conduct process and outcome evaluations of the North Carolina Breast and Cervical Control Program (BCCCP) and the North Carolina Comprehensive Cancer Control Program (CCCP) and disseminate the results in a variety of ways.  This position is responsible for planning and evaluation strategies to identify populations in need and the most effective internal and external activities to enhance BCCCP, CCCP, and NC Cancer Plan initiatives.  In addition, the position will organize and be the lead staff for the Advisory Committee on the Cancer and Coordination and Control (ACCCC) Evaluation Subcommittee as well as identify and monitor community-level indicators related to cancer prevention and early detection.  These indicators might include policies, facilities, activities or programs.

This position works with Public Health Epidemiologist/Supervisor and CCCP Program Manager to assist with BCCCP and CCCP evaluation, branch priorities and assessments on an on-going basis.  Compiles, tracks and analyzes data submitted by staff of the BCCCP and CCCP programs.   The position is responsible for tracking program performance and program activities for BCCCP and CCCP.  Provides bi-weekly, monthly, and semi-annual reports for the BCCCP and CCCP services, benchmarks and overall progress/outcomes.   Works with the Central Cancer Registry to facilitate data needs and prepare reports for the ACCCC subcommittees and the CCCP.

Management Preferences:
  • Bachelors’ degree in discipline related to public health, statistics, math or similar field

  • One year of experience in data analysis with a working knowledge of statistics 

  • Experience with federal grant writing
