Community Engagement Coordinator

The purpose of this project Community Engagement Coordinator (PS 3) position is to develop and carry out a community engagement plan specifically focused on alerting community members to the project’s work, creating informational and listening sessions and encouraging engagement in the project. Under the supervision of the School Review Manager, you will serve as the community engagement liaison for the duration of the project, providing support to develop and maintain relationships with community groups and organizations, support the technical advisory committee, and help facilitate sharing of information with the public regarding this project. 

Responsibilities include:

• Determines the most appropriate strategies to engage with diverse community organizations, groups, individuals, and tribes across the state. 
• In partnership with TAC rules team, identifies potential agencies, organizations, coalitions, groups, and community leaders who may be impacted by the Board’s rules and have an interest in helping inform or participating in draft rule development and other associated activities. 
• Develops and maintains relationships with diverse community organizations, groups, and individuals across the state, including Tribal organizations.
• Attends community meetings and events across the state (in person or virtual).
• Shares information about the TAC and collaborates to develop opportunities for community members to engage in the project. 
• In coordination with the Board’s Equity and Engagement Manager, seeks input and feedback from Tribes, organizations, and community members and brings that input and feedback back to the project team and Board for consideration.
• Serves as the liaison and primary point of contact for community-based organizations and the public regarding the school rule project, and coordinates with school rule team in responding to inquiries and requests for information.
• Evaluates engagement strategies to ensure they are effectively reaching and engaging diverse community organizations, groups, individuals, and Tribes across the state.

 Option 1: Five (5) or more years of experience in community relations, public health, health education/promotion, community development planning, or communications.

OR

Option 2: A bachelor’s degree or higher in public health, health education/promotion, community development planning, community relations, communications, public administration, public policy, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in community relations, public health, health education/promotion, community development planning, or communications.
